In the desert, there are two different families of snakes that live together. There are both venomous snakes that survive in the sand, dust, and heat and are pursued and killed by the Tuaregs, as well as beautiful green serpents that dwell beneath the protection of an oasis and are worshipped by humans. The following is the tale of Ajar, a young deadly serpent who is teased by his contemporaries for the fact that he has not yet gone through his first moult, and Eva, the defiant princess of the oasis who longs to flee in order to avoid being forced into an arranged marriage. These two will eventually meet and end up falling in love with one another. Eva will, alas, be taken captive by the Tuaregs, and Ajar, accompanied by her best friend, Pitt the Scorpion, will have to travel through the treacherous Sahara in order to rescue Eva from the awful fate that is awaiting her.
