It's 1958 in Hollywood. Marla Mabrey, a beauty queen from a small town and a devout Baptist virgin, comes to Los Angeles on a contract with the famous Howard Hughes. At the airport, she meets her driver, Frank Forbes, who is engaged to be married to his seventh-grade sweetheart and is a very religious Methodist. Their instant attraction puts their religious beliefs to the test and goes against Hughes' number one rule, which is that no employee can have any kind of relationship with a contract actress. Hughes's actions affect Marla and Frank in very different and unexpected ways. As they get deeper into his strange world, their values are tested and their lives change.
