After being hurt in a shootout, rookie Sergeant Lee is transferred to the suspicious-sounding Miscellaneous Affairs Department (MAD). There, a cynical and inebriated veteran named Inspector Wong is assigned to him, and he learns that MAD's job is to respond to supernatural calls. The first MAD rule is that there are no ghosts, according to Wong. There is a scientific and logical explanation for every phenomena that appears to defy explanation.
