Afraid rogue Harry Flashman's (Malcolm McDowell) schemes to get entrance to the royal circles of 19th-century Europe go no place until he meets a pair of unscrupulous nobles with their own program. At their advising, Flashman consents to re-create himself as a fake Prussian aristocrat to woo a beautiful lady. But the half-baked plan quickly comes unwinded, and also he's quickly on the run from numerous new adversaries who are all asking for the rapscallion's head.
