A charming dramatic comedy, a buddy picture, and a heist film for good measure. Old Frank lives alone and is a curmudgeon. His daily routine includes trips to his neighborhood library, where he has a fondness for the librarian. His adult children are concerned for their father's well-being, so they buy him a robot caregiver. Frank is first opposed to the concept, but he later recognizes the benefits of robotic assistance, such as nutritious meals and a clean home, and treats his robot as a true partner. Frank's passion for his former illegal job is resurrected with the help of his robot, for better or worse.
