As a result of a hit-and-run accident that kills Lisa's father, we learn that he has a secret daughter from his previous marriage. Known only by the name of Marie, she is a convicted murderer who has been granted early release from jail and is driven by a single goal: vengeance. While operating under the guise of Bethany, Marie has connived her way into living and working in close proximity to Lisa, lurking and plotting her vengeance as restitution for the life she believes she has been cheated out of–a life she believes their father has unfairly given to Lisa. As a means of reclaiming what is owed to her, Marie has set up a lethal trap for Lisa, forcing Lisa, her mother, and their friends to fight for their lives against the ruthless sister they never knew existed.
