Mrs. Crawford, a recluse who lives alone, is sent a parcel by mistake that contains a mysterious amulet. She is furious with her daughter, who also serves as her caretaker, for being directly to blame for her paraplegia. The ancient treasure bestows upon her the terrible abilities of a minor Norse goddess known as the Queen of Snakes, and as she strives to gain mastery over these abilities, she poses a threat not just to herself but also to the rest of the world.
