Phantom of the Opera

Claudin, a pit violinist, covertly supports rising operatic soprano Christine Dubois (as do baritone Anatole and police officer Raoul). Claudin, on the other hand, loses both his touch and his job, and in a fit of rage, murders a rogue music publisher and has his face etched with acid. Soon, the Paris Opera House is beset by unexplained crimes, which are blamed on a famous "phantom."
