Matt, a young lawyer who is very self-absorbed, goes to see his grandfather, an eccentric recluse who lives in the woods without gas, electricity, or a phone. He wants to convince him not to give away his money as he plans to do. That's not all, though. In the end, Matt is convinced to make some changes in his life. Jason London and Ed Asner are in the movie, and they are the stars. Whenever a woman needs someone to take care of their aging father, she doesn't want to choose her irresponsible son first. Jason London plays Matt, who can't get his job, love life, or wallet in order. How can he be expected to check in on his grandfather, who lives in the same town? That's why Matt goes to see his grandfather in the middle of nowhere. It takes Matt a while to get used to this simple way of life, but then he meets a single mother who helps him learn about it.
