Ren Amari is the ambitious creator of a groundbreaking new medication. OtherLife stretches the brain's perception of time and produces virtual reality in the user's consciousness. With OtherLife, seconds in real life feel like hours or even days of thrilling adventures. As Ren and her coworkers rush against the clock to launch OtherLife, the government intervenes to utilize the medicines as an extreme solution to prison overpopulation. They will develop virtual cells in which criminals will serve lengthy terms in few minutes. When Ren refuses, she finds herself stuck in her head as an unwilling guinea pig. She must flee before succumbing to insanity, and then regain control of OtherLife before others suffer the same fate.
