Original Cast Album: Company

"Company" launched on Broadway in the spring of 1970, and the cast recording was done the following Sunday. D.A. Pennebaker, a famed documentarian, videotaped the original cast recording, Sondheim's interactions with the performers, and live recording. The film ends with Elaine Stritch singing "The Ladies Who Lunch." It won 6 Tony Awards, including "Best Musical," and ran for two years on Broadway. The "Original Cast Album" film series never happened.
