Onoda: 10,000 Nights in the Jungle

Japan, 1944. 22-year-old Hiroo Onoda, who had been trained for a career in intelligence work, came across a philosophy that ran counter to the official line of thinking. This philosophy stated that there should be no suicide, that one should remain alive regardless of what happened, and that the mission should take precedence over everything else. This task will be to wage a guerrilla battle until the return of the Japanese soldiers and will require the individual to be sent to Lubang, a small island in the Philippines where the Americans are due to land. Soon after, the Empire will capitulate, and Onoda will do so 10,000 days later.
