A year after crossing dimensions, discovering magic, and battling the restoring demon, the boys have returned to Bremin and are struggling with everyday adolescent life. Felix has a lot of faith in the four heroes. He wants them to test the limits of their magical abilities as a group in order to become arcane masters. But, despite his refusal to admit it, the boys have grown apart. The boys, who were once in perfect magical and elemental alignment, have devolved into a tangle of rivalry and distrust. The Nowhere Boys, on the verge of splitting up, are drawn together for one final spell when Felix discovers a magically sealed 'Book of Shadows.'
