This working-class neighborhood in London is home to Raymond's family: his wife Val and her brother Billy. Val and Billy's mother, Janet, and grandmother, Kath, are also members of their family. As a result of Billy's drug addiction, Raymond kicks him out of the house and forces him to live on his own. Raymond is often a tough and even violent individual, which causes difficulties in the family's daily life and relationships.
