Mektoub, My Love
Amin, an aspiring screenwriter who lives in Paris, returns home for the summer to a fishing village in the south of France, where his father owns a fishing boat. It is a period of reconnection with his family and old pals from boyhood. Together with his cousin Tony and closest friend Ophélie, he divides his time between the Tunisian restaurant managed by his parents, the local bars, and the beaches, which are frequented by young women on vacation. Thrilled by the myriad feminine characters who surround him, Amin continues to be awestruck by these summer sirens, while his dionysiac cousin revels in their sensual pleasures with ecstasy. Amin undertakes his philosophical quest while gaining inspiration for his screenplays, guided by the dazzling golden light of the Mediterranean coast and his camera. When it comes to love, only Mektoub (Arabic for "destiny") has the final say.
