Mayerling
Austria's Crown Prince Rudolf and Emperor Franz Joseph I have disagreements over enacting progressive measures for their nation. Rudolf quickly gets the impression that he was born in the wrong era, in a nation that doesn't understand the necessity of social transformation. A lighthearted element is provided by the Prince of Wales, who would eventually become King Edward VII of Britain. By taking Baroness Maria Vetsera as a mistress, Rudolf escapes his loveless marriage to Princess Stéphanie.
