In this drama, a young African-American couple navigates the perilous waters of romance and athletics. Quincy McCall (Omar Epps) and Monica Wright (Sanaa Lathan) grew up in the same neighborhood and have been friends since they were children. They fall in love as they mature into adults, but they also have another consuming passion: basketball. They've been fans of the game their entire lives and possess considerable talent on the court. Quincy and Monica fight to make their relationship work as they pursue distinct career paths through high school and college basketball and, hopefully, into big-league professional ball glory.
