Larry "Doc" Shepherd, Sal Nealon, and the Rev. Richard Mueller served together in the Vietnam War. Thirty years later, they get back together for a different mission: to bury Doc's son, a young Marine who died in Iraq. Doc and his old friends decide not to bury him at Arlington National Cemetery. Instead, they take the casket on a sad trip up the coast to New Hampshire. Along the way, the three men talk about their memories of a war that still affects their lives and how they live their lives.
