Lacombe, Lucien
Lucien Lacombe, a young man living in rural France during World War II who wishes to join the French Resistance, is the protagonist of Louis Malle's acclaimed drama. When he is turned down because of his age, Lucien becomes enraged and joins the Nazis' Gestapo's Gallic wing. Lucien enjoys the power that comes with his position, but his life is turned upside down when he falls in love with France Horn, a lovely young Jewish lady.
