La Vie en Rose
Edith Piaf's life was a perpetual struggle to sing and survive, to live and love, from the rough streets of the Belleville section of Paris to the bright spotlight of New York's most famous music halls. Piaf was found in 1935 by nightclub owner Louis Leplee, who convinced her to sing despite her severe anxiety, despite having been raised in her grandmother's brothel. Piaf became one of France's timeless symbols, and her voice became one of the 20th century's most enduring trademarks.
