Kit Kittredge: An American Girl

Kit Kittredge, who is nine years old, feels the effects of the Great Depression when her dad loses his business and leaves to find work. Kit is played by Oscar nominee Abigail Breslin, who is part of a great cast in the first "American Girl" movie to be shown in theaters. Kit and her mother have to take in "boarders," or paying house guests, in order to keep their home. These paying house guests turn out to have a lot of interesting stories to tell. When Kit's mom's lockbox with all of their money is stolen, Kit's new hobo friend Will is the main suspect. Kit refuses to believe that Will would steal, and her attempts to find out the truth get her and her friends into a lot of trouble. The police say the robbery was done by someone they know. But if it wasn't Will, then who did it?
