Kenny Rogers stars as Brady Hawkes, as the titular bettor, starts a trip to meet a boy he never recognized after the latter sends him a letter. In the process, Brady meets Billy Montana (Bruce Boxleitner) and both come to be buddies. Billy (while attempting to help Brady in his quest) fantasizes himself as an expert online poker player on his very own.
