Jodorowsky's Dune
This documentary was filmed in France, England, Switzerland, and the United States. It is about director Alejandro Jodorowsky (El Topo, Holy Mountain, Santa Sangre) and his crazy attempt in 1974 to make a movie out of the classic science fiction novel Dune. The huge project, which took 2 years and cost millions of dollars, didn't work out in the end, but the artists that Jodorowsky brought together for it continued to work together. This group of artists, who Jodorowsky called his "warriors," went on to make movies like Alien, Blade Runner, Star Wars, and Total Recall that helped define modern science fiction cinema.
