After the civil rights movement of 1971 The opportunity for a black Korean War veteran and his family to achieve their dream of economic independence and for him to have the ability to be his own "boss" led them to believe that San Francisco was the ideal place for them to do so. Charlie Walker would quickly learn how naive he was about many things. He refused to accept "No" as an answer in a city full of skeptics and impostors. He was determined. A door that had never been accessible to a black guy previously was suddenly opened as a result of a devastating event. This is the tale of what transpired when he walked through that door, putting both feet on the ground.
