Captain Henri Rochard is a French officer who has been assigned to assist Lieut. Catherine Gates in her duties. They meet, fall in love, and eventually marry after a series of bizarre misadventures. Upon the cessation of hostilities, Capt. Rochard attempts to return to the United States with the other female war brides. This is followed by a slew of bizarre, gender-confusing shenanigans.
