I Hired a Contract Killer

Henri Boulanger is let go from his job after fifteen years of service. Shocked, he attempts suicide but is unsuccessful, so he hires a contract killer in a seedy bar to murder him at an unspecified time in the future. But, almost immediately, he meets and falls in love with Margaret, a flower seller, who convinces Henri that his life does, after all, have meaning. When he returns to the bar to cancel the contract, he discovers that it has been destroyed - and there is no way for him to contact the killer...
