Hurt By Paradise
First-time feature director Greta Bellamacina brings together Woody Allen and Frances Ha in a new British drama based on a short story by the poet, actor, and publisher. Gretta also appears in the film as Celeste, a young mother in modern-day London who is trying to carve out a career for herself as a poet. Stella (played by co-writer Sadie Brown), a friend and neighbor of Celeste's, dreams of becoming an actress but spends much of her time babysitting Celeste's son. In addition to being a love letter to the city, this story of friendship and familial ties is told with a subtle sense of humor.
