Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison

Marine Corporal Allison washes ashore on Tuasiva Island in the South Pacific in1944, where he meets Sister Angela. She explains to him that she is the sole occupant of the island and that the runaway boat left her behind on Fiji Island while she sought out the priest there. Despite the fact that they are stranded on an island with plenty of food and drink, Allison and the nun's idyllic existence is cut short when the Japanese arrive to begin construction on a base. In addition to supplying them with food and water, the crude marine develops feelings for the nun.
