They've hired a fishing trawler to explore the effects of global warming on a Bering Sea Orca pod. Things turn deadly when the ship's crew unearths a newly thawed Soviet space debris. The Russians appear to have experimented with tardigrades, small robust critters capable of withstanding the extremes of space radiation. The creatures managed to survive, but not without change. The crew is now in contact with aggressively mutating microbes. And the creatures aren't about to give up the comfort of human contact after being trapped in ice for three decades.
