When you live in a town like Grandview, Illinois, you're just like anybody else. Tim Pearson, who will graduate from high school in May, plans to study oceanography in Florida. He is drawn to Michelle "Mike" Cody when he first meets her. She is in charge of the local Demolition Derby venue. Webster's wife is cheating on him and hopes to marry Mike in the future. Ernie "Slam" Webster is a derby driver whose wife is having an affair. There will be a love triangle between Tim, Mike, and the rest of the group.
