After surviving a plane accident in the forest, Baby George is found by an intelligent ape who decides to raise him as his own child. Years later, when George is an adult, he saves an American noblewoman named Ursula Stanhope while she is on a safari, and he later brings her to the jungle to live with him there. As George slowly gains an understanding of the norms that govern human interactions, Ursula's boyfriend continues his search for both Ursula and the person who abducted her.
