Andy Farmer, played by Chevy Chase, is a sports writer whose wife Elizabeth, played by Madolyn Smith, is a teacher. They move to the country so that Andy can write a novel in peace and quiet. Obviously, the Farmers don't find peace and quiet in the strange, small town, where bad things happen at every turn.
