Funny Boy
An adaptation of Shyam Selvadurai's 1994 unique Funny Child, checking out the awakening of sexual identification by a young child named Arjie. As political tensions rise to a boiling point in between the minority Tamils and the bulk Sinhalese, a young boy matures in a society and household that doesn't accept difference outside of social standards. The movie narrates Arjie's battle to discover equilibrium and self-love in spite of the lack of empathy and also understanding.
