Foreign Land
When Alejandro Reis, better known as Alex, learns that he is not a US citizen, his life changes in a matter of seconds. When he was a few months old, his parents took him across the border to Mexico. Florence Hendricks was born in Missouri. It is decided that she will run away from home. Alex has been sent to Mexico for deportation. For reasons that aren't immediately clear, Flora gets arrested for shoplifting at the same time. Alex was also placed on the same deportation bus. Alex and Flora rapidly discover that they are well out of their depth on Mexican land. Tijuana and most of the border towns are overtaken by dangerous, fighting criminal factions, and they learn this quickly.
