Early eighteenth century. Jonathan Green, a cartographer, embarks on a scientific journey from Europe to the East. After Transylvania and the Carpathian Mountains, he finds himself in a little village surrounded by trees. Only chance and thick fog might have brought him to this cursed location. The folks that dwell here are unlike any other people the traveler has ever seen. The villagers, having created a deep moat to defend themselves from the world, believe they can rescue themselves from evil, failing to see that evil has established its nest in their souls and is waiting for a moment to pour out into the world.
