Brad Sexton and his wife, Caroline, are well-to-do New Yorkers who are experiencing marital and financial difficulties. When they discover that their accountant has embezzled millions of dollars and blamed them, the latter issue becomes urgent. Brad and Caroline are forced to flee and end up in an Amish area of Pennsylvania, where they decide to disguise themselves as members of the religious group in order to evade the IRS. They begin to reconnect as they adjust to the simple Amish lifestyle.
