Fist of Legend
Chen Zhen is a Chinese engineering student in Kyoto who loves a Japanese girl. He puts up with insults and abuse from his Japanese classmates in order to be with her. Mitsuko Yamada, the director's daughter, goes back to her father's home country of Shangai in 1937, when she learns that his kung-fu teacher Hou Ting-An died in a fight with the Japanese champion Ryuichi Akutagawa. At the time, Shangai was under Japanese protectorate, or military occupation.
