Star Chow (Stephen Chow) is a police officer in the elite Special Duties Unit of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force (SDU). While in conversation with his superior officer, Inspector Yip (Deanie Ip), Star jokes that he would like to be transferred to the traffic section. In an instant, Star is demoted to the rank of Constable, and he is assigned to traffic enforcement duties on the Hong Kong streets. Star resigns from the police department after being made the scapegoat in a botched high school terrorist investigation. He decides to enroll in high school in order to begin his own private investigative business. The investigation, however, becomes more difficult for Star when he learns that the bumbling, incompetent CID detective Tat (Ng Man Tat) is also working undercover at his son's secondary school.
