Jacob Bernstein's movie is a tribute to his mother, Nora Ephron, who was born in Hollywood and grew up to become an ace reporter and a piercingly funny essayist before becoming a novelist, screenwriter, playwright, and director. By using her words, Ephron makes herself come to life on the screen. Her sisters, former husbands and many other people she has known and worked with; scenes from her movies; and, above all, her own unique presence make her come to life on the screen.
