Everything Is Cinema
Calcutta(1969), a documentary directed by Louis Malle, influences Chris, a young, independent filmmaker from Kerala, who hopes to make his own updated version of the film. In order to complete his documentary, he relocates to Kolkata with his movie actress wife, Anita. When a corona virus outbreak breaks out in India when filming is well underway, his producer refuses to release the money he had previously agreed to provide him. Chris and Anita are stranded in their leased Kolkata apartment as the government-ordered lockdown begins. Chris plans to secretly record a documentary on his marriage in order to release his pent-up resentment and get Anita off his back.
