Eva Doesn't Sleep
The most bizarre aspect of this story is that it is true. Eva Perón, Argentina's beloved First Lady, died of cancer at the age of thirty-three in 1952. Argentines came to be near "Evita" when her body was being embalmed for display, thanks to the commission of a renowned embalmer by the heartbroken Juan Perón. Following the overthrow of his administration by a military coup three years later, Perón was forced to flee the nation before he could arrange for the shipment of his wife's body. After seizing control of the country, the military junta abducted Eva's corpse. They were so terrified of her symbolic significance that they even made it illegal to mention her by name. As a result, Eva's body began its two-decade trip across Europe and eventually back to Argentina.
