Former inmate Kevin Hunter, a petty crook who returned home to care for his sick mother and young daughter, has been granted early release from prison. Kevin has no prospects for employment and needs money badly, so he resorts to his old method of making ends meet: robbery. Unfortunately, he has stolen from the wrong person this time, and the valuable item he now possesses rightfully belongs to a powerful and dangerous man who will stop at nothing to recover it. Kevin is in over his head and needs to think out a way out.
