Identical twins Elliot and Beverly are both successful gynecologists who work at the same office as each other. Several of Elliot's patients are attracted to him, and he has affairs with several of them. When he eventually loses interest, he will hand the woman over to Beverly, who is the more reserved of the two. The woman will have no idea who she is being handed over to. Beverly is head over heels in love with one of the patients, Claire, but when she unintentionally deceives him, he spirals into a condition of mental illness.
