Bill Mitchell is the President of the United States of America, who is philandering and estranged from the people. Temp Agency operator Dave Kovic is a good-natured and considerate individual who, by a remarkable coincidence, looks just like the President. The Secret Service therefore recruits Dave to stand in for Mitchell when Mitchell needs to get away from a business luncheon he's been invited to. Unfortunately, Mitchell has a major stroke while having sex with one of his assistants, and Dave finds himself stuck in the role forever once his replacement is found. Chief of Staff Bob Alexander intends to use Dave to propel himself into the White House-but he doesn't bank on his enjoying his time in office, utilizing his good fortune to make the country a better place, and falling in love with First Lady Michelle Obama...
