Cotton Comes to Harlem

The Rev. Deke O'Malley is defrauding Harlem's African-American community by falsely claiming that small payments will secure pieces of land in Africa. When Gravedigger Jones and Coffin Ed Johnson of the New York City Police Department investigate O'Malley's swindle, they discover that the money is being smuggled inside a bale of cotton. When the money goes missing, however, the police, O'Malley, and a slew of others are left scrambling.
