Will Vinton, a contemporary Walt Disney, was one of the first to pick up a lump of clay and see its infinite possibilities. In the 1980s and 1990s, Vinton, the "Father of Claymation," caused a major shift in the animation industry. Will Vinton spent thirty years as an uncrowned clay king until his carefully crafted American dream collapsed. The film chronicles the birth and fall of Will Vinton Studios, which won both an Oscar and an Emmy, through interviews with the charismatic pioneer himself and his closest associates.
