St. Louis, 1986. Keith Richards has put together a tribute band for Chuck Berry's 60th birthday that includes Robert Cray, Joey Spampinato, Eric Clapton, Richards, and Johnnie Johnson, Chuck Berry's longtime pianist. Joined on stage by Etta James, Linda Ronstadt and Julian Lennon, Berry plays his iconic rock classics. His abilities as a writer, lyricist, singer, pianist and entertainer are on display and, in behind-the-scenes interviews, are discussed by Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bruce Springstein, the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison and others. There's even a rehearsal, which is unusual for Berry. A duet with John Lennon and archival material from the early 1950s complete this portrait of a master.
