Jing (Kwai Lun-Mei) was paralyzed as a child and now lives a tranquil life as a piano teacher. She accuses her doctor, Zhou (Chang Chen), of abusing her during a routine physical examination one day. Zhou is apprehended, accused, and tried right away. Tim (Aaron Kwok), the prosecutor in the case, is an idealistic lawyer who entered the legal profession to punish the wrongdoers. The investigation becomes increasingly complicated as Tim's investigator Nam (Liu Kai Chi) assists him in peeling back the layers. Tim soon starts to doubt Jing's story's veracity.
