If Bugs Bunny directed his trademark question—"What's up, Doc?"—at the modern-day Warner Bros. creative team, he would not be far off. For 1001 Rabbit Tales, they reimagined a collection of classic cartoons featuring the carrot muncher and his clumsy friends and bundled them into a feature-length film nearly perfectly. The premise is as follows: Bugs and Daffy, both book salesmen, are vying for the most copies sold of a children's book. Rather than making a beeline for his sales territory (he should have turned left at Albuquerque), Bugs winds up in Yosemite's castle. Sam, here a harem leader. Sam's grumpy son, Prince Abalaba, needs someone to read him stories; Bugs, who'd rather take the job than risk being boiled in oil, agrees.
