Bereavement
Martin Bristoll, six years old, was kidnapped from his backyard swing in Minersville, Pennsylvania, in 1989. Graham Sutter, a psychotic recluse, imprisoned Martin on his abandoned pig farm, forcing him to witness and participate in unspeakable horrors. His victim's screams were drowned out by the rural countryside, which had been chosen at random. Martin's whereabouts have been a mystery for five years, until 17-year-old Allison Miller moves in with her Uncle, Jonathan. Allison discovers something is wrong at the farmhouse down the road while exploring her new surroundings. Her inquisitiveness stirs up a hornet's nest of evil and despair that, once opened, can never be closed.
